28 year old Lucas J. Vice of Falls City was arrested early Sunday morning by Falls City Police officers and is facing a number of charges including two felonies.
Officer Patrick Stamper was dropping off Sergeant James Baker when they heard what they believed to be a crash and then saw a vehicle speed through an intersection. Officer Stamper started to follow.
Eventually the officers found Lucas Vice involved in a disagreement with two other men. Allegedly Vice was driving a vehicle that rear-ended a vehicle driven by Dennis Lockard II, at 14th and Reavis Streets. Lockard pursued Vice who allegedly hit a mailbox in the 1900 block of Nemaha Street.
Vice was arrested and was transported to Community Medical Center in Falls City for alcohol testing. While at the hospital he allegedly ran from the officers and was able to get outside before he was caught by the officers.
Vice is facing a felony count of driving under the influence since he has previously been convicted of three counts of driving under the influence. He is also facing a felony count of escape.
In addition to the felony charges he is facing two misdemeanor counts of hit and run, willful reckless driving and driving while under suspension.
Vice was placed in the Richardson County Jail but has since bonded out.
