The Brownville Lyceum will honor a local artist during a reception this Sunday afternoon.
Thomas Palmerton came to Brownville nearly 40 years ago to teach an art workshop. He fell in love with the village and moved his family from Omaha to Brownville.
Palmerton is a graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute, and has work in many national collections including Mutual of Omaha, the Joslyn Art Museum, and ConAgra.
The Lyceum is currently hosting a show of Palmerton’s paintings and sculptures, and will honor the artist at a reception at 4:00 p.m. Sunday. Palmerton will share his life story and philosophy of art during the reception. Jane Smith is with the Lyceum. (play audio :25)
Palmerton’s exhibit will remain at the Lyceum until the first of June.
