A Highland woman charged in connection with an alleged child abuse case waives her preliminary hearing.
26-year-old Cassie Collins was bound over Doniphan County District Court this week on a charge of aggravated endangerment of a child.
Arraignment was set for April 26th before District Judge John Weingart.
The preliminary hearing for co-defendant, 25-year-old Brandon Mottin of Lancaster, was continued after a new attorney was appointed to represent him. A new hearing date hasn’t been set yet. Mottin is charged with aggravated battery.
According to court documents, the two-year-old victim suffered serious burns and bruises. The child is a patient at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
Mottin remains in the Doniphan County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond and Collins in lieu of $50,000 bond.
