Falls City, Auburn Track teams Compete at Syracuse

 Falls City and Auburn track teams competed in the Scott Nisely Invitational at Syracuse Friday.
 Crete was the team champion in both the boys’ and girls’ portions of the meet. 
 The girls’ team race was close, with Crete finishing with 95-and-a-half points, and Syracuse second with 94.  Auburn tied for 4th with Beatrice with 68-and-a-half points, and Falls City finished 9th with six points.
 Crete won the boys’ team race handily with 136 points.  Auburn and Syracuse tied for second with 80 points, and Falls City was 7th with 20 points. 
 Individually, Auburn junior Tierra Williams won four events – the long jump, triple jump, 100-meter dash, and 200-meter dash.  Her teammate, Amy Mann was second in the long jump and pole vault.  Hale Harsin of Syracuse won both the 400-meter dash and 800-meter run.
 Hailey Baxter had Falls City’s top individual finish, placing third in the shot put.
 For the boys, Auburn’s Thomas Hinrichs won both the 110 and 300-meter hurdles; Alex Gonsalves won the long jump ans was 3rd in the 200-meter dash and 5th in the 100-meter dash; Devin Anderson was second in the 800-meter run and 4th in the 400-meter dash; and Quintin Boden was 3rd in the shot put.
 For Falls City, Jordy Stoller and Matt McCann finished 3rd and 4th in the long jump; Cord Huettner was 4th in the shot put. 
 Auburn was 3rd and Falls City 5th in the 1600-meter relay.
