Nemaha County Road and Bridge Supervisor Dennis Ronnebaum will oversee the county’s solid waste department, effective immediately.
County commissioners made the decision Monday following a closed-door session.
With the new responsibility, Ronnebaum will receive a $24,000 annual pay increase.
Doug Jeanneret resigned earlier this month as solid waste director.
In other business, County Treasurer Rose Wilhelm informed commissioners that the state is asking the treasurer’s office to close to the public next Thursday morning, April 5th, from 8 to 9 a.m. in order to test the new motor vehicle system.
The new web based system is set to go live beginning May 1st.
