Controversy is quelled, following the decision of the Riverside USD 114 Board of Education to make no changes to grade configurations for the next school year.
That follows two meetings, focused on the matter, including Monday night's session that began with public comment(Play Audio :06 seconds)
That's Superintendent Mike Newman who says the voices from the public were heard, ultimately followed by the Board's decision(Play Audio :11 seconds)
The School Board had been faced with three options, including making no change.
Otherwise, grade levels would have been reconfigured, and moved around, affecting which campus-Elwood or Wathena-particular grades would attend.
Newman says each option carried both pros and cons, including necessary facility upgrades and changes.
