3rd Candidate Enters Jackson Co Sheriff Race
03/08/2012

The third candidate-and second Republican-enters the race for Jackson County Sheriff.
He is 62-year-old Jim Honn, who filed by petition to challenge current Sheriff, Democrat Tim Morse, and 54-year-old first time political candidate, Robert “Bob” McNicholas, of Netwaka.
Honn brings with him 30-years of law enforcement experience, and is a longtime Jackson County resident.
He will face McNicholas in the August 7th primary election.
Honn spent 23-years with the Shawnee County Sheriff's Department, working as a patrol officer, a K-9 handler, and narcotics investigator, among other numerous duties, including service as lieutenant for the uniform operations division at the time of his retirement.
Honn and his wife, Kathy, lived in the area of Hoyt for 20-years; and, following a short time out of the area, now reside in Holton.
Candidates have until noon, June 1st to file for election.
