A young rural Horton man has been sentenced to 14 months in prison on four counts in two separate cases.
In the first case, 22-year-old Ryan Shopteese was sentenced Monday in Brown County District Court on charges of felony theft, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and misdemeanor criminal damage to property.
In the case, Shopteese was charged with leading police on a pursuit last November after stealing a vehicle from a Horton resident.
In the second case, he was sentenced on a felony count of criminal threat.
Shopteese was given credit for 114 days served in jail.
He plead no contest to the charges last month as part of a plea agreement. In exchange for the plea, six additional counts were dismissed.
