Horsefeed Recall Announced
MORRILL, Neb. (AP) _ A Nebraska company is recalling two batches
of horse feed because it contains medicine that can be fatal if
large amounts are consumed.
Western Feed said Friday that is recalling Kountry Buffet 14%
feed because it may contain potentially harmful levels of monensin
sodium. The feed was sold to retailers in Nebraska and Wyoming.
Western Feed, which is based in Morrill, says it has received
reports of some horses dying because they ate the feed.
The recall covers feed with the lot numbers M718430 or M720280
that was distributed in December. Anyone who bought the affected
feed should stop using it and contact Western Feed at (308)
247-2601.
