Jackson Co Sheriff Pursues Grants
The Jackson County Sheriff's office is working to gain more involvement in federal and corporate grant programs, attempting to become more competitive in securing those available monies.
As part of the overall goal, Jackson County Undersheriff Darrel Chapman has just recently completed grant writing training held in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
It's the plan of Sheriff Tim Morse to build a team of grant writers within Jackson County to help not only the Sheriff's Office, but other county departments and public service agencies within the county.
Morse says that goal stems from the fact that grants are more likely given when they can benefit the most, meaning agencies must work together as a team so all agencies can benefit from awarded grants.
