Although specific details aren't immediately clarified, an apparent high rate of illness spreading in the Troy USD 429 school district has forced the closure of classes on Friday.
The school district made the announcement late Thursday afternoon.
Friday basketball games will not be affected.
School districts throughout the region have been forced to make recent similar closures due to the spread of the late winter flu keeping students and faculty alike out of the classroom.
