Embracing an overall reduction in insurance rates, the Holton City Commission considers enhancements to the city's insurance plan, while looking towards possible pay increases for city employees.

As it stands, City Commissioners are looking into the possibility of adding dental insurance as part of the city's Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance package.
Connected with that is the consideration of the pay increases.
Bauer says it's been sometime since raises have been given(Play Audio 9 secs)
Following discussion of those issues during their meeting Tuesday night, Bauer says it was decided to hold off on a decision, prior to further study being made(Play Audio)
Bauer says the numbers will be reviewed, and re-evaluated, prior to returning to the Commission for a decision.
Commissioners also tabled a third item, related to registration of scrap metal dealers.
Bauer says action on the issue was delayed as new state statutes regarding that matter are reviewed.
