Timeline For New Horton Police Chief Changes
The schedule of one of three applicants, seeking the open seat of Chief of Police for the City of Horton, means a change to the interview process, as decided earlier this week, by the Horton City Commission.
During Monday's meeting, Commissioners planned to meet with the candidates on Friday, from 8 in the morning until 3:00 that afternoon, including a two hour break.
However, based on the scheduling conflict, the process will be held over two days.
On Friday, the Commission will hold a special meeting, for the purpose of applicant interviews, from 8:00 until 10:00 in the morning, or when the interviews are completed.
The process will continue on Monday, for one hour, from 8:00 until 9:00 that morning, to accommodate the one applicant's schedule.
Commissioners are working to fill the seat, likely before the resignation of the current Chief of Police becomes effective.
Dick Luzier ends his role of leadership on January 25th, following his decision to resign.
He made the announcement just after the Christmas Holiday, but has not provided a public reason why.
