(KAIR)--An Atchison woman is going to prison, sentenced this week in Atchison County District Court to nearly 12-years.
Bailey Walker learned her fate Monday regarding charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault, criminal threat, criminal restraint, and theft.
The crimes stemmed from a violent attack on a man, during a party at Walker's residence, in May.

According to a release from Atchison County Attorney Sherri Becker, the 29-year-old Walker was sentenced Monday in connection with the crimes, investigated after Atchison Police May 9 responded to a report that a man was bleeding. Upon talking to the victim, they learned he had met Walker on an online app, and came to Atchison from out of town to meet her. He told police that during a party at Walker's home that night, Walker, and others, attacked him, hitting him with a baseball bat while Walker stabbed him with a knife. The violent attack was apparently done in an attempt to rob the man, who was able to escape Walker's home and call police. His injuries included many abrasions and contusions, as well as a dislocated finger. He was treated for his injuries at Amberwell Atchison.
A search warrant executed at Walker's residence led to her arrest, as well as that of a juvenile, and the recovery of pieces of a pink baseball bat and a knife with a broken tip.
The juvenile received a 12-month sentence in juvenile detention.
According to Becker, Walker’s role in the attack happened while she was on bond awaiting her sentence in a drug case. The Court ordered that her 71-month sentence for the attack run consecutive to her 70 month sentence for possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and aggravated endangerment of a child, meaning Walker will serve a total of 11-years-9-months for the two cases.
