Is your child ready to gain the skills to go to kindergarten? Do you want to learn new parenting skills? NEK-CAP, Inc. Head Start can help both you and your child to be successful in the future.

NEK-CAP, Inc. Head Start has been awarded funding to provide a 6.5 hour school day and 160 days of school in Horton, Kansas at our South Brown County Head Start Center. Head Start is a center base preschool program serving three and four year olds.  Head Start programs support children's growth and development in positive learning environments through a variety of services including social skills and school readiness skills building,
health and developmental screenings, nutritious meals, oral health and mental health, and family well-being - strengthening child and parent relationships.

You will want to apply quickly as enrollment slots will go fast and we want you and your child to be served at Head Start in the upcoming year!

Documents needed to complete an application: All this information is kept confidential, except for financial audits and state/federal reviews.
ü  Proof of Income -2016 tax forms or pay stubs or public assistance
ü  Child's Birth Certificate if available
ü  Immunization Records

Head Start is administered by the Office of Head Start within the Administration of Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. NEK-CAP, Inc. provides Head Start in Atchison, Brown, Doniphan, Jackson, Jefferson, Leavenworth, Marshall, Nemaha and Pottawatomie Counties in Northeast Kansas.

NEK-CAP, Inc. reserves 10% of its enrollment slots for children with disabilities.
