Brown Co Moves Forward on Tax Sale
09/02/2016

(KNZA)--Brown County is moving forward on a delinquent tax sale.

The County Commission Wednesday approved a resolution presented by County Attorney Kevin Hill authorizing the tax sale.

In late July, 270 letters were sent to property owners who were three or more years delinquent on taxes.  The letter gave them until September 1st to get caught up or be included on the petition to be sold.

A tax sale is not expected to be set until the spring of 2017.

The last tax sale was in 2014.
