(KNZA)--Funeral services have been set for a Topeka man with Holton ties who apparently drowned over the weekend following a boating accident at Perry Lake.
A memorial service for 46-year-old Jeff Miller will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Topeka.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 Wednesday evening at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel in Topeka.
For the past 12 years, Miller served as the human resources manager at Banner Creek LLC in Holton. He served on the Holton/Jackson County Chamber of Commerce Board from 2011 through 2013, including as Chamber President in 2013.
Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Herrig says Miller was reported missing early Friday evening after last being seen on his 26-foot sailboat earlier in the day on Perry Lake.
Following search efforts, his body was found Saturday morning in the water west of Longview Park.
The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the boating accident.
Miller is survived by his wife, Martha, his parents and a sister.
