(KAIR)--After two delays, a road resurfacing project on Interstate 29 in Buchanan County is scheduled to get underway this week, one day sooner than expected.
According to a release from the Missouri Department of Transportation, contractors will begin milling and repaving a stretch of I-29 between Route O in Buchanan County and Business Route 71 in Andrew County Tuesday morning. All work will take place after 6:00 each evening, after peak travel times, and should be completed by 6:00 each morning. One lane in each direction will remain open throughout the project.
The on and off ramps will also be resurfaced, and every effort will be made to keep them open during the duration of the project.
The project was originally scheduled to start on July 27th. However, weather delays on other projects pushed that date back to August 9th, and again to August 19th.
MoDOT expects work to be completed sometime in November of this year.
