(KLZA)-- Bryan Mellage met with the Auburn City Council this week to discuss new housing development on the west side of Auburn. That conversation led back to the long discussed West Water Line Project. Mayor Scott Kudrna said the water line project is estimated to cost $5-600,000. Representatives of the Board of Public Works, City Council members, Auburn Development Corporation and the Planning Commission will be meeting to see if they can come up with a way to get the project completed.
The Council approved an amendment to the contract with Southeast Nebraska Development District for an environmental review for the Auburn Housing Authority. An agreement was approved with Bcom Solutions to provide backup to the City computer systems. Quotes from Bcom Solutions to provide WiFi to the pool and park area and possibly to the Rec Complex area were reviewed. An $880 bid to provide WiFi from the City Hall to the pool and park area was approved. The cost to provide WiFi to the Rec Complex was around $150 per month. No action was taken with the ball season basically over for this year.
A resolution on a franchise agreement with Time Warner Cable was tabled for a month.
A number of re-appointments were approved. Dave Davis, Doug Jones and Mickey Willis to the Planning Commission. Deb Clopton was re-appointed to the Library Board and Devin Den-Young’s appointment to the Auburn Library Board was approved.
Mayor Scott Kudrna says preparation work for the next city budget is underway and some numbers will be reviewed with the Council in August.
