(KLZA)-- Representatives from a number of Nebraska organizations attended a public hearing Tuesday conducted by the Richardson County Board of Commissioners to receive input on Richardson County becoming a “Livestock Friendly” county. The public hearing is one of the required steps of the designation.
Nobody from the area showed up to comment. Steve Martin with the Nebraska Department of Agriculture said he was there to answer any questions the Board may have.
Commissioner David Sickel said he feels they Board should do everything they can to support agriculture.
No action was taken following the hearing. The Board is expected to consider a resolution during their July 21st meeting to declare Richardson County a Livestock Friendly County.
