(KNZA)--One person is in custody, and another injured, following an incident Friday afternoon in a Hiawatha alley way.
Hiawatha Police Chief John Defore says officers responded following the report of a possible aggravated battery in the alley behind the Dew Drop Inn, located at 508 Oregon Street.
One man was taken into custody as a person of interest while another person was transported from the scene by ambulance.
Additional details pertaining to the incident are not immediately made public.
The report was made around 3:20, and initially stated that a gun had been brandished in the alley. However, Defore says no gun has been located, no shots were fired, and eyewitnesses at the scene say a gun was never spotted.
