(KLZA)-- During a special meeting of the Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer School Board Thursday evening a proposal to sponsor varsity softball this coming fall was voted down 5-1.
Earlier this month two parents proposed the HTRS School District sponsor varsity softball after the Auburn District opted not to renew the softball co-op between the two schools. Discussions on a softball co-op with Johnson County Central ended when JCC voted to discontinue their softball program.
In order to have started a varsity program for the 2015 season a schedule would have to of been completed and submitted to the Nebraska School Activities Association by July 1 and a coach would have had to have been hired.
