(KLZA)-- Two rural Humboldt residents were injured Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle wreck in Richardson County.
The Richardson County Sheriff’s office says it happened around 8 on a minimum maintenance road about 2 ½ miles northwest of Verdon, north of 714 Road.
The sheriff’s office says19-year old Nina Travis-Hestermann was northbound in a Pontiac Grand Prix. She said a car was headed right at her vehicle and she went into the ditch to avoid a collision. Hestermann alleged it there were a couple of teenagers in the car not paying attention and the car did not stop.
Nina Travis-Hestermann and her husband, 26-year old Eric Hestermann, were both transported to Community Medical Center in Falls City with non-life threatening injuries.
The sheriff’s office says both occupants were wearing seat belts.
