(KAIR)--Farmers from all over Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska are invited to attend a Prevented Planting informational workshop Wednesday morning, presented by Diversified Services.
Diversified Services representative Jeff Schuele says prevented planting is a situation in which a farmer is physically unable to get in and plant their crops. There is a window of time set for each producer to get their crops planted, and “if they cannot get those crops planted in a timely manner, there is one of the provisions in their crop insurance policy...called prevented plant...there is a calculation where they would get paid seventy percent of their revenue guarantee per acre on that crop, per county.”
Schuele says all aspects of prevented planting will be covered at the meeting. He says “what we are going to discuss is what options producers have as far as...do they need to file a prevented plant claim, maybe they should look at possibly filing a late plant...we will give them the rundown of the technical side as far as when a claim is filed, what the adjustors take a look at the information they need, as well as the whole economic situation.”
The Diversified Services Prevented Planting informational workshop will be held at the Cedar Ridge Catering and Banquet Hall in Atchison, starting at 11:00, and lunch will follow the meeting.
The event is free, and everyone is invited to attend.
