Special Needs Playground Approved
06/11/2015

(KNZA)--A special needs playground is planned for the Everest Middle School.

The idea was formulated by Keith Olsen, a Brown County Commissioner known for his local activism on behalf of area youths.

Olsen unveiled the design of the playground, as well as the $6.000 plus bid for the construction, during Monday’s meeting of the USD 430 Board of Education.

The playground would include two swings and two rides with a border around the facility to hold the mulch in place.

Funding to make it happen would come from monies already raised by Olsen.

The Board of Education approved the proposal with the understanding that arrangements will be made to install a safety fence around the facility for student protection.
