OREGON, Mo. - An ongoing bridge replacement project on Interstate 29 at Exit 75 will impact more travelers beginning Wednesday, May 6, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.
Currently, northbound motorists are being rerouted around the bridge closure at Exit 75 via the on and off ramps. Starting Wednesday, May 6, southbound traffic will also be rerouted to the southbound on and off ramps at this location. U.S. Hwy 59 from both northbound and southbound will be inaccessible for the duration of the bridge replacement project. In addition, motorists on U.S. Hwy 59 will be unable to access I-29 at this interchange.
On April 27, 2015, the northbound bridge was closed with I-29 traffic rerouted to the ramps and U.S. Hwy 59 closed under the bridge. In order to minimize the duration of the impact to motorists, contractors will close the southbound bridge on I-29 over U.S. Hwy 59 at exit 75 on Wednesday. By working on both bridges concurrently, the closures should be completed by the end of June, weather permitting.
U.S. Hwy 59 will also be closed for the duration of the work from County Road 247 to the southbound on and off ramps of I-29.
All work is weather permitting and schedules are subject to change. MoDOT encourages all motorists to slow down, buckle up, eliminate distractions and drive safely to ensure everyone is able to Arrive Alive.
