(KNZA)--A farewell reception for outgoing Hiawatha Mayor Crosby Gernon will take place prior to the city commission’s regular meeting Monday evening.
The reception will be held from 4:30 to 5:30 at the Hiawatha City Hall.
The public is invited to drop by and thank Gernon for his 9 years of service to the community.
City Commissioner Steffen Shamburg will be sworn in to replace Gernon during the meeting that evening.
The Commission will also appointment someone to fill Shamburg’s seat as Commissioner of Police.
