(KLZA)-- The Pawnee County Commissioners awarded bids for materials for two bridge projects to Husker Steel when they met Tuesday. One bid was in an amount of $166,795 the other in an amount of $78,884. The bids will be awarded upon approval by architects, Mainelli and Wagner. Both projects are southwest of Pawnee City.
Correspondence from the Nebraska State Historical Society regarding the Rinne Farm officially being listed on the National Register of Historic Places and correspondence from the State Department of Environmental Quality regarding the Robert Bartels concentrated Animal Feeding Operation were reviewed.
Representatives of Southeast Nebraska Community Action met with the Board to present a Regional Assessment Report on Food and Nutrition and the 2014 Annual SENCA report. A proclamation designating May at Community Action Month in Pawnee County was also approved.
Susan Keholm informed Board members that SENCA will be requesting funds for the emergency food and shelter program since their government funding has been cut. The funding helps Pawnee County residents in need of emergency funds for food or shelter. Updates for the Pawnee County SENCA office were also reviewed.
