(KNZA)--Jefferson County is among 14 counties in the United States selected this year to be part of the National Health and Nutritional Examination Survey.
The survey, conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is designed to assess the health and nutritional status of adults and children in the country.
The survey is unique in that combines interviews and physical examinations.
Jefferson County Health Department Administrator Beth Brown says the CDC survey staff will be in the county from July 17th to September 20th.
She says they plan to survey 463 people in the county, and examine 72 percent of those surveyed for information about nutrition and health.
