(KLZA)-- 16-year old Austin Barton of Forest City, Missouri suffered what were described as moderate injuries in a one-vehicle wreck about 5 p-m Thursday afternoon.
Barton was southbound on 159 Highway approximately five miles southeast of Mound City when his pickup traveled off the right side of the highway and struck a guardrail. Barton was transported to a St. Joseph hospital by the Atchision-Holt Ambulance Squad.
The Holt County Sheriff’s Office and Mound City Police Department assisted the Missouri Highway Patrol at the scene of the wreck.
The 1998 Ford pickup truck was totaled in the crash.
