(KNZA)--A Leavenworth man was seriously injured late Saturday afternoon in a rear-end collision involving two motorcycles on U.S. 73 Highway in Kansas City, Kansas.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 61-year-old Fred Thomas was northbound on a Harley Davidson motorcycle when a northbound motorcycle in front of him slowed down and attempted to turn left into the median, north of Parallel Parkway. Thomas didn’t see the motorcycle stopping and struck the rear of the motorcycle.
Thomas was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center with disabling injuries. The other motorcyclist, a Ormond Beach, Florida man, also was injured but the Patrol report doesn’t indicate he was transported to a hospital.
The wreck was reported shortly before 5:45.
