(KNZA)--An attempted Jackson County traffic stop turns into a 25-minute pursuit and that leads to a hospital trip for a Denison man.
Sheriff Tim Morse says it happened around 5:30 Friday evening, near 22nd and R.4 Road, when a deputy attempted to stop a pick-up truck.
Instead, it's alleged the driver failed to comply, with the pursuit making its way through eastern and southeastern sections of Jackson County.
Another deputy intervened, attempting to stop the truck north of 142nd Road on V.4 Road by using stop sticks.
The driver of the truck allegedly swerved to miss them, but then lost control on a curve while northbound on V.4, which sent the truck off the roadway. The driver, identified by Morse as 49-year-old Robert Eisermann, was ejected.
Alert and oriented after the wreck, Eisermann was transported to a Topeka hospital for evaluation.
An arrest has not yet been made.
Morse says his department was assisted by the Potawatomi Tribal Police, Mayetta Police, Hoyt Police and the Kansas Highway Patrol, while fire departments from Mayetta and Hoyt, along with Jackson County EMS, responded to the scene of the crash.
The Patrol is investigating the wreck.
