(KAIR)--An investigation conducted by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation has lead to the arrest of an Atchison man on felony charges related to alleged sex crimes against a child.
Atchison County Sheriff Jack Laurie says the alleged crimes were reported to his department in November by a social worker with the Department of Children and Families. The case was then forwarded to the KBI.
An Atchison County District Court warrant was issued Wednesday charging 21-year-old Collin Calhoon with two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy with a child under 14 years of age, two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child under 14 years of age, and two counts of criminal threat.
Investigators say the charges stem from incidents that allegedly took place between January 2008 and February 2009.
Calhoon was arrested Thursday at his Sedgwick Road residence.
Calhoon was booked into the Atchison County Jail, but was later released after posting a $25,000 bond.
