(KAIR)--The Kansas Turnpike Authority has announced that reconstruction work on the Kansas Avenue Bridge in Leavenworth County is scheduled to start soon, weather permitting.
KTA announced Tuesday that the bridge, which crosses over the turnpike, will close to all traffic starting Monday.
The bridge has deteriorated significantly to the point that it needs to be completely replaced.
Iowa based construction company AM Cohron & Sons is the contractor for the project. Construction on the bridge is scheduled to be completed by November.
