(KAIR)--A Wednesday afternoon domestic disturbance in Atchison, leads to the arrest of an Atchison man on assault related charges.
Police Chief Mike Wilson says police were called to a residence located in the 1500 block of Santa Fe just before noon, for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, two female victims reported that 61-year-old Michael Denton had allegedly threatened them with a handgun and allegedly struck one of them with the gun before leaving the area.
Police were able to locate Denton minutes later near the intersection of Seventeenth Street and Main Street. He was taken into custody and booked into the Atchison County Jail on charges including aggravated assault and domestic battery.
The 21-year-old victim, who was allegedly hit with the gun, required no hospitalized treatment.
