(KAIR)--An Atchison police officer, accused of battery after a domestic altercation earlier this month has resigned from the department.
According to Police Chief Mike Wilson, the resignation submitted by 50-year-old Bobby Young was effective February 9th.
Young, along with his live in companion, 45-year-old Kellie Schuetz was arrested February 4th after deputies with the Atchison County Sheriff's Department responded to a disturbance at their residence. Both were observed to have visible injuries related to the altercation.
