(KNZA)--A Hiawatha teen arrested last October following a standoff has been placed on probation on a charge of felony interference with law enforcement.
Brown County Attorney Kevin Hill says Braiden Guido was granted probation Thursday by District Judge Jim Patton despite the state’s request that he be sentenced to prison, based in part on his past failures on probation.
Hill said Guido does remains in custody on a previous case, and has a pending probation violation hearing scheduled Tuesday before a different judge. Hill says he plans to ask that Guido’s probation be revoked in that case and for him to serve the original sentence imposed in the case.
Guido was arrested October 27th after authorities executed a search warrant on his home in the 300 block of North 8th Street and found him hiding in the attic.
That came after he fled from a vehicle stopped in Hiawatha on October 26th that was reportedly involved in a shooting in Fairview. No injuries were reported.
Four others were also charged in the case.
