Cory Huff
(KNZA)-- A Topeka man accused of firing shots at motorists on U.S. Highway 75 in southern Jackson County on New Year’s eve has pleaded “ not guilty” to charges.
Jackson County Attorney Shawna Miller says 51-year-old Cory Huff entered the plea Thursday after he was bound over to stand trial on five counts following his preliminary hearing.
Huff is charged with two counts of attempted intentional second-degree murder, discharge of a firearm at an occupied vehicle and reckless driving.
Miller says a motions hearing has been set for April 11th, during which time a jury trial is expected to be set.
Authorities say the incident was a random act of road rage. No injuries were reported.
Huff remains in the Jackson County Jail on $250,000 bond.
