(KAIR)--A St. Joseph man already facing a charge of second-degree murder in the shooting death of a Troy man last month now faces an additional charge.
The St. Joseph News Press reports Buchanan County Prosecutor Dwight Scroggins on Wednesday also charged 34-year-old Daron Simpson with felony first-degree assault.
Authorities say Simpson allegedly fatally shot 36-year-old Andrew Clary before also shooting his ex-wife at a residence north of Faucett early January 24th. Although seriously injured, Amanda Simpson survived the shooting.
Daron Simpson turned himself into authorities shortly after the shootings.
He remains in the Buchanan County Jail, held without bond.
