(KNZA)--Don't believe everything you read.
That follows a fast spreading Facebook post this week, claiming that tainted candy had been found in a Hiawatha store.
The claim that a needle was found in the candy mirrored similar, debunked stories that have been making the rounds for years, even prior to the internet.
Hiawatha Police say there was no report made regarding the claim while the store's manager says no such incident has been brought to his attention. However, there are new developments in the story, which we continue to follow, drawing new questions into exactly what happened. We'll keep you up to date as those developments are made public.

Let me guess...didnt even bother to contact the family, huh? Did we forget that the manager cannot say anything until the corporation lawyers allow him to answer. This includes the authorities. This is the problem. Call the claim a lie because money is more valuable than safety of the communties. Perhaps, you should contact the family.

Mother- If there was a real concern, I think you would have contacted the police. If you were truly wanting to let the public know, the police are better equipped to do that than you are. I am glad to hear this isnt true. Shame for perpetrating falsehoods and creating hysteria in our small town.

Shame indeed. If I had discovered a needle in my childs candy, after alerting the store I would immediately contact the police. You purport that theye is a gag order but after investigation, this proves false. You didnt, as you claim, even talk to the manager, but now are threatening his job on facebook. Sounds like money grubbing to me.

And even if you arent lying, perhaps the child did it for attention?

A gag order can only be issued by a judge in court. Lawyers do not issue gag orders. I dont know what the motivation for this accusation was but it is sad that the community is up in arms over it.
