(MSC News)--The Kansas Department of Transportation has accepted a bid of more than $2 million for roadway work impacting a swath of the local area.
The project will encompass U.S. Highway 73 from the RS-25 junction north to the Atchison/Brown County line. The milling and overlay will continue west to the east city limits of Horton, and will include Highway 73 in Atchison, at Woodlawn/U.S. Highway 59, over the railroad crossing.
Herzog Contracting, of Saint Joseph, was awarded the $2,108,205.98 bid for the nearly 16 mile project.
A start date for the work is not yet announced.
