(KAIR)--Three local healthcare and rehabilitation centers are under new ownership.
That comes as Genesis Healthcare acquires the Wathena Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center and the Highland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Doniphan County, and the Vintage Park Senior Living Residence in Atchison.
The acquisition of the three skilled nursing centers comes as Genesis completes the purchase of Skilled Healthcare Group, the former operator of the three facilities.
According to a press release, the acquisition creates one of the largest skilled nursing and post-acute care providers in the country, with more than 500 skilled nursing and senior living centers in 34 states. It also expands Genesis Healthcare's rehabilitation therapy business to more than 1,800 providers in 47 states.
The Highland location offers 44-beds while the Wathena location has 60, and Vintage Park has 40 beds.
