(KNZA)--Now that the filing deadline has come and gone, the races have been set for Doniphan County school board positions for the April 7th general election.
There will be contested races for the four open positions on the Doniphan West USD 111 Board of Education.
Seven candidates are vying for three positions in District 1. They include Mark Allen, Cyndi Florence, Grant Gladhart, Tim Nuzum, Lisa Parsons, Pam Twombly and incumbent John Whetstine.
Three candidates are vying for position 7, member at large. They include incumbent Stephanie Symms, Mlle Caudle and Stephanie Peterson.
There will be contested race for one of four open positions on the Riverside USD 114 board.
Three candidates are seeking position 7, member at large. They include incumbent Peggy Libel, James Horton and Becky McFee.
There is also a contested race for the four at-large positions on the Troy USD 429 Board. Eight candidates are vying for positions. They include incumbent Warren Grable along with Stephen Bowe, Kelly Fuemmeler, Galen Mitchell, Sandy Reel, Sherman Smith, Teresa Root and Jason Winder.
In addition, there is a contested race for three open positions on the Highland Community College Board of Trustees. Five candidates are seeking the positions---incumbents Joyce Simpson, Carl Tharman along with Russell Karn, Teresa McAnerney and Mike Parker.
