(KNZA/KMZA)--Several area northeast Kansas highways were closed Sunday due to blowing and drifting snow.
The Kansas Department of Transportation says K-99 in Marshall County from the city of Beattie to Summerfield was closed around 7 Sunday evening. The highway was re-opened around 11:30 Monday morning. .
KDOT says K-20 in Brown County was closed around 3 Sunday afterrnoon from K-7 to the Brown/Doniphan County Line. The Highway re-open around 5 Monday morning.
And in Jackson County, a portion of US Highway 75 was shut down Sunday afternoon and evening due to white out conditions north of Holton.
Sheriff Tim Morse says the highway was shutdown between 278th and 286th Roads after numerous vehicles slid off the highway and blowing snow made visibility nearly impossible.
Morse says one Kansas Highway Patrol car was damaged from a passing semi tractor and trailer.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Kansas Highway Patrol and KDOT shut the highway down for over an hour from around 4 to 5:15.
No injuries were reported from the incident. Morse says the sheriff's office responded to about a dozen slide offs and one injury wreck on Sunday.
