(KAIR)--A burn ban issued by Atchison County officials last week, will remain in effect until further notice.
County Emergency Management Director Wes Lanter says the ban was issued in response to a report from the National Weather Service that calls for wind gusts to to 20 miles per hour or stronger for at least the next day.
Lanter says that he will continue to monitor weather conditions, and will provide further updates as they become available.
