(KAIR)--A prominent figure in the Atchison community will be honored during the annual Atchison Area Chamber of Commerce banquet.
MGP Ingredients Board of Directors Chairperson Karen Seaberg will be inducted into the Chamber's Hall of Fame during Saturday night's event.
Chamber President Jacque Pregont says that she thinks that Seaberg is every bit as deserving of the honor as anyone who is already in there. “She is a doer. Anytime you have a project, or an event, or anything like that, if it is something she is interested in, she is going to jump in hands on and be very helpful... we are very fortunate in Atchison to have a lot of people that are committed to our community and willing to work very hard, and she is one of those”.
Seaberg will be the first woman inducted into the Hall of Fame.
The Chamber has not added anyone to the Hall since Seaberg's husband Ladd was inducted in 2009.
