(KLZA)-- The Humboldt City Council approved the One and Six Year Street Plan as presented during their Tuesday night meeting. The only project on the One Year portion of the plan is the Cemetery Road. Due to the cost of paving, other options will be looked at before any work is done.
Richardson County Sheriff Don Pounds attended the meeting to meet Mayor Mike Riley and Council members and introduce himself after taking office earlier this month.
The bid for the Humboldt Airport farm land which includes just under 70 tillable acres was awarded to STR Farms. Frank and Tim Rist submitted a bid for three years that will pay the city a total of $58,500 or $19,500 per year.
Carolyn Blecha was appointed to the Nursing Home Board replacing Pastor Matthew Mortenson who has moved out of town.
The Humboldt Council also approved the purchase of four tires for the City loader from Harmon’s O.K. Tire Store in Falls City. The tires are $1,058 each plus a $150 fee for each tire for handling and mounting. The total cost will be $4,832.
