(KLZA)-- Dennis Schaardt will serve as Chairman of the Pawnee County Board of Commissioners in 2015 with Jan Lang serving as Vice-Chairman.
During Tuesday’s annual reorganization meeting Tichy Land Survey Company was appointed County Surveyor, Chris Rauner re-appointed Highway Superintendent, Terry Kerl Weed Superintendent and Zoning Manager, and Clint Strayhorn was re-appointed Emergency Manager.
Dennis Maggert with the Nebraska Association of County Officials met with the Pawnee County Board to discuss health insurance options to replace CoOportunity Insurance. The Board voted to change to United Healthcare PB8 plan through NACO as of March 1. The change was made due to financial difficulties the CoOportunity company is currently experiencing.
County Assessor Jon Bailey met with the Board concerning permissive exemptions which will need to be approved between February 1 and May 1.
The annual report for the Nebraska Department of Agriculture Livestock Friendly County was completed. Commissioners have also asked to have GIS present a program for bridges and roads during a meeting in February.
A 29 minute executive session was held with Highway Superintendent Chris Rauner to discuss personnel matters. No action was taken.
