(KNZA)--A second candidate has filed for the position of Hiawatha mayor.
Current city commissioner Dr. Steffen Shamburg filed Wednesday for the position.
Shamburg has served as Commissioner of Police since May 2005.
He joins longtime commissioner Bill Collins in seeking the office.
Mayor Crosby Gernon has announced he isn't seeking re-election.
Candidates have until noon next Tuesday to file at the Hiawatha City Clerk's office.
