Man Arrested in Jackson Co. ATV Theft

(KNZA)-- A Topeka man has been arrested in connection with the theft of an ATV from a rural residence in southern Jackson County.
Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse says 33-year-old Kenneth Max Ray Jr. was arrested Tuesday evening on a charge of felony theft.
Morse says the sheriff’s office received a report of the theft of 2001 Honda EX ATV from the 13-thousand block of 118th Road in rural Hoyt on January 11th. 
The investigation led sheriff’s investigators to obtain a search warrant for a residence on Southeast 17th Street in Topeka.  However, prior to the warrant being served, authorities located the ATV at a Topeka convenience store in the area of 15th and Adams Tuesday evening.  Ray was arrested at the scene and taken into custody by Jackson County deputies.
The Shawnee County Sheriff’s office assisted with the apprehension of Ray whose being held in the Jackson County Jail.
